Do you need your fire reignited to pursue God? Do you have prayers that yet to be answered by God? Today, I share with you that Christ teaches & commands his followers in Luke 18:1 that it is necessary when we pray to not give up! Even when it looks like the problem is getting bigger and it will not go way, God has not forgotten your prayer, nor is His power too short to help you! I encourage you today to equip yourself with a hidden or new virtue in your walk with God. It’s called persistence. The promises of God show up for those, who doggedly pursue him in prayer. Enter a season of persistence with us at Common Bond Church during this 40 days of lent. Give up something you treasure for 40 days, and then pursue God through prayer, reading of the bible, scripture meditation during that time. And see God begin to honor your faith. #seasonoflent #lent #faith #faithrenewal #renewaloffaith #persistence #commonbondchurch
Genesis 3:6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Midweek Devotion: Eve’s downward spiral (sin) started when she let her eyes and personal desires (flesh) determine her actions. Our problems often start the same way! Instead of focusing merely on what we want, let's Give God Our Best & Be Our Best this year by seeking to see life through God’s eyes and having God’s desires above your own. #GivingGodYourBest #DailyBibleReading #1Corinthians9:27 #It’sOkToSayNo #MidweekDevotions
In the beginning, God's work was speaking and making so that things happened (Genesis 1). As 2019 begins, many of you are considering many goals & resolutions. Our most important goal should always be to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Thus, it is timely at this time of year to make this our priority. Our church is setting our vision and goal to 'Give God Our Best' through these 3T's (Time, Talent, & Treasures). We believe that our love to God in these 3 areas will reciprocate immensely to a fulfilling life for 2019. Join us in agreement, then begin visualizing it, write out plans about it and then move forward in giving God your best until it happens. Watch how good your year becomes when you make God the priority. #thefaithofGod #theGodkindofFath #goals #resolutions #vision2019 #vision #ridethewave
Today, we'll share gifts, food, and love among family and friends. It'll all be fun, but with so many things going on, we may forget that Christ is the most important thing we'll all share today. Matthew 1:21 says that Jesus came on this occasion to save his people from their sin. It's a joyous day that brought us peace on earth, hope in God, and love that only God can give us. Merry CHRISTmas! #commonbondchurch #merrychristmas #reasonfortheseason
What made Mary believe that God was going to give her a pregnancy way beyond the ordinary? After hearing the words of the angel Gabriel, Mary states in Luke 1:37, “For nothing will be impossible with God.” Mary believed that the impossible was the natural realm of God, meaning for God to be God, of course God would do the extraordinary thing! Jesus is the extraordinary reason for the season. We celebrate the coming of Christ, born of a virgin, to save the world from sin! Merry CHRISTmas #advent #bornofavirgin #commonbondchurch #reasonfortheseason
Happy Thanksgiving! As you enjoy this holiday, We are reminded that we can always gives thanks to God, who does all things for us. Psalm 136:3–4 (NET): “Give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his loyal love endures, to the one who performs magnificent, amazing deeds all by himself, for his loyal love endures”
